Fiscal Cliffhanger
Is there truly a fiscal cliff or a dramatic cliffhanger for the US media to run-amok with as usual so they have some headline to keep eyeballs captivated? We have so many things going on around this nation at the moment ranging from the high employment, racial animus at an all time high, faltering infrastructure, and let's not forget the climate change on going.
Now with the psychologically defected exposed nationwide for the racially averse heretics they are, their deranged representatives in DC are now playing chicken with the nation's financial future do the usual "to show that damn nigger in office who's boss". However, what those assholes doesn't realize is that the majority of the citizenry will hold their sorry asses accountable this time not President Obama. Oops, I bet their asses did see that one coming!
Yeah, we have a number of things to worry about right now, so this fiscal cliffhanger shouldn't even be one of them at the moment....

So amount of Americans possessing anti-black hate is up, so...
Guess what the US, you have more anti-black people now than you did 4 years ago! Not really I'm not lying.
It's not really a surprise because there are some many people that hate on President Obama, the sitting president, like they hate on somebody whom is doing something with their lives. Black people beware, we are all in for something fare against more anti-black malice...

Who's really the liar in this election season?
I ask this question why so many Americans are whining and saying "both candidates are one in the same". However, as somebody that usually gives a fair shake of anyone prior to discerning whether they are a liar or overall honest individual. In politics, that same rules apply when assessments are made.
Sorry, but overwhelming evidence displays that the Romney/Ryan ticket is just chalk full of lies on top of lies. This is sad when there are actual blogs dedicated to Romney's plethora of lies and even credible journalists are even able to provide long form documentation of the lies. Paul Ryan just plain lies about himself from Medicare to his beliefs in Ayn Rand to his acceptance of actual fund from the 2009 stimulus for pet projects. I believe most people paying attention to the actions for both candidates on this ticket is just done right obvious. However, it has been shown that partisans on both sides are more defiant towards listening to counterarguments of the other side more than anything else this year. (This might be a recipe for an extremely polarized political environment in the short-term future)
Now don't get me wrong I have my problems with President Obama for starters refusing to stand up and issue an executive orders forcing many states to and jurisdictions to recognize marriage equality even it is only civil unionships (for the time being), enforce some form of job programs that enables those of us having trouble getting into the full time employment in the workforce, and allowing the Bush-era tax cuts on households with incomes above $250,000 be sustained for another year. Let me not forget his reluctance to promote marriage equality until Joe Biden opened his unfiltered mouth. However, the President hasn't told a bold face lie about any of his own shortcomings.
Romney and Ryan are lies, plain and simple. It just seems that the President is be a better choice...

2 fails and a success (sort of...)
OK, North Carolina and its ability to negate the fact that it is a Southern state with fools at the wheel leading it future, FAIL! FYI, same-sex unionships were already banned at a state-level in North Carolina prior to this referendum. It is interesting that the majority of people would be willing to vote for an amendment that would essentially strip even common law heterosexual couples of recognition, domestic partnership benefits, and domestic violence protections. North Carolina is a state of dichotomy with very socially progressive urban areas, but staunch socially conservative (and very regressive) rural areas. It is very dubious mentality for a place that wants to the most competitive state of the New South (against Georgia, Virginia, Florida, and Maryland). It seems at the moment, Maryland has the last laugh on this front, but theirs is up for the ballot as well.
Oh yeah, let me not forget President Obama affirming support for "marriage equality" for all including same-sex couples, which is a win, sort of... The catch is he still believes it should be up to the individual states to decide for themselves whether or not they will be marriage equality for both heterosexual and homosexual relationships. Interestingly, the perspective of likely the most prudent compromise of supporting same-sex unionships, i.e., "same-sex marriages", but remaining pragmatic which allows those whom use the guise of states' rights as a reason to non the measures.
To be more interesting, former Congressman, Artur Davis decided to blog about the President's announcement. He attempted legitimized the opposition that exists amongst so many black Americans. He has the tried and true argument that has been used by so many older black Americans about the disarray of stable coupling of younger generations of adults. Yeah, I would agree that there needs to be more stability of relationships of black adults in general, but the scapegoating of same-sex couples as an additional threat is ludicrous. This all goes back to the notion there aren't good male role models for black male youths to display to these impressible minds that responsibility of be a good father (and stop fucking every thing that walks without a condom). It is quite faulty for Davis to use this as a justification of banning the extension of basic rights afforded to most in other Westernized nations to all their monogamous and committed couples of all combinations (male-female, male-male, female-female). This is one situation where I don't agree with Davis attempt to be pragmatic when you are simply giving validity to myopia, FAIL!

Alright, now
I'm back to posting for this short in-between semester break and will try to continue throughout the summer when possible. First thing first, my personal life...single again but by choice. Couldn't deal with the idiot I dated for over a year so it had to cease and desist. Secondly, I'm doing good academically with a 4.0 graduate-level GPA, so hopefully I'll continue this trend until the end, next year. Third, what the hell is wrong with some people in south of the Greater Birmingham region in Alabama? I swear this region is like the abyss for intelligence outside of these college campuses. I've met 5 people non-affiliated with the university I attend for graduate school, Auburn University, and only 2 of them have shown any ability to hold my attention beyond 5 minutes. Now I know why people don't deal with this region...
Anyways, on the societal issues. Yeah, Birmingham (and Tuscaloosa but to me all of it is Birmingham since it's all one urbanized region) got hit hard by the April 27th tornado outbreak. It turned out the tornado outbreak was quantitatively larger and deadlier than the Super Outbreak of 1974, but it is debated on the strength comparison. I just know I was in the middle of finals when this outbreak occurred on that now historical Wednesday stuck doing presentations and examinations throughout the day. It along with the April 16th tornado outbreak in North Carolina has shown Alabama and the world that nature still has plans under its sleeves for our increasingly belligerently ignorant and divisive society. Raleigh and Birmingham will be dealing with the aftermath of these significant weather phenomena for the next few years.
On politics, I swear the aversive racists have shown their asses literally. First, President Obama listens and folds to Front Lace Wig aka Donald the Chump over his birth certificate, and there was no merits to the bullshit claims. Then, he takes out Usama bin Laden and the racists keeps adding flames to the fire by whining about seeing his body. Then the brigade of assholes on the GOP ticket running for the presidency is laughable from Newt "I'm a whore" Gingrich to Mitch Romney. The idiocy begins and this time it's racial.

Now what exactly is this going to prove?
I'm starting to wonder if the partisan purists of the Democratic party wants to see this fight blow up in the President's face. Especially after today when House Democrats wants to block the resolution as is that would allow the passage of the combined bill allowing an long term extension of unemployment benefits in return for a 2-year extension of the tax cuts on the wealthy. However, what most of them haven't anticipated is the American people will blame them meaning House and Senatorial Democrats in 2012 if they economy stalls because of this "proof of cuming political points" against Congressional Republicans. I hate the idea of giving an extension to those whom makes $250K+ annually, i.e. the "Bush-era tax cuts". Meanwhile, the people who are going to be punished is those whom make below this tax bracket and the long-term unemployed. Every battle shouldn't be won if you are attempting to win a war, but I guess this notion is lost on deaf ears of some Democrats that wants revenge, political revenge.
All I can say let's hope the counter-deal that the Democrats are crafting is going to work....

And what exactly suppose to be said about the 'compromise'?
Let's see President Obama decided to 'co-opt' a 'compromise' with the Senatorial Republicans over the "Bush-era" tax cuts that are set to expire on 1/1/11 along with a 13-month extension of unemployment benefits which expired on 11/30. Seems like a no-brainer to me. However, so of my fellow more partisan-oriented progressives want to hold the unemployed hostage like what happened over the summer to prove a point. Uh, how in the hell thinks this is a good idea?
Let's be realistic, Obama is setting the Republicans up to be exposed as the classist bastards they are in 2012 when the tax cuts are up for debate again. Also he isn't going to be held to some delusional partisan ideal that some of my fellow progressives but also liberals will live and breathe by until they day they die. Common sense will tell you that nothing in life is cut and dry especially in politics. Now if some of my fellow progressives doesn't realize this then that is on them, but I know what is up with this 'compromise'.

Ok, time for another lesson in race discussions...
I'm honestly dumbfounded and disgusted by the inert actions of the folks in the White House (I vindicated Obama from this drama because of he would get implicated for playing favorites by the right and aversive racists) involving all this associated with race. I can't get my mind wrapped around the notion that so many of these predominately white male individuals in the White House will do anything to including warning Obama that if he touches this he will lose moderate, working-class whites. However, this discussion needs to occur, SERIOUSLY.
OK, last week Shirley Sherrod was thrown under the bus by the paranoid USDA secretary, Tim Vilscak, and then the NAACP went into panic mode as well. Then we can even go back to my personal rants on how black Democrats in Congress such as Michigan's own John Conyers throwing ACORN under the bus last year after the foolishness that was pedaled from those doctored footage. And let's not forget the Van Jones' castration of last December, where he was allowed to be tarred and featured by so-called liberals and black Democrats. I'm just frustrated by those latter two events as much if not more than the Sherrod situation because at least those with sense came to her defense.
The whole discussion of race, is a social concept created by white elites in this nation from the 1600s during the post-indentured servitude era of the Colonial America. This was a response to white elites making note of who often black and white former indentured servants were suffering from common afflictions of lack of access to economic improvement, so they used the all encompassing term "white" as one to describe anyone whom was of fair complexion regardless of ancestry. Also the usage of how fear of blacks being "savages" and "thieves" whom will do anything to get a one up on impoverish and working-class whites as a weapon to create a divide between the two groups. This still continues to this very day between impoverish and working-class black and white Americans.
Class is also thrown in as a weapon to impede the growth of both groups but race is also an extra trick to ensure the lack of access from anything will not be there for blacks at all. Ultimate, the two concepts are connected in many ways, but the discussion of how race is used as an extra spin on things is just icing on the cake. Race is an institutionalized affliction that impedes the empowerment of blacks as well as aforementioned groups of whites (along with other non-white groups), but the division amongst all is just disheartening.
This is where President Obama needs to come in and attempt to discuss this openly discuss this issue. Race along with the usage of class needs to be addressed to all. Many of the those within the "Angry White People Coalition" aren't impoverish or working-class rather clearly economically stable middle-to-upper class whites whom just seem to have a racial bone to pick with Obama. They are beyond hope and pointless to address in Obama's case. Whereas, those like the Spooners, whom affirmed Sherrod's story, are the ones whom should be reached by such discussion. They know that most non-whites aren't against them, but the way those like Andrew Breitbart, Tucker Carson, and the sycophancy of misinformation at FOX News will do anything to create such a wedge so there isn't any commonality between any groups...

On the BP oil spill...
Well, one of the main reasons why I'm so silent on this catastrophic event is because it has become too politicized for my tastes to talk about. Case and point, Peanut-head AKA James Carville is whining and screaming on television at Barack Obama as if he is superman that can clean up the spill himself, "Do something man! We're dying down here!"

It's even worse with the dittoheads like Arinana Huffington of the Huffington Post calling him Obama "Nowhere Man" because he isn't trying to be everywhere all at once especially in reference to the oil spill disaster.
The rest of the media wants to allege that this is going to be "Obama's Katrina". Oh yes, President Obama is leaving thousands of people without basic needs such as food, shower, and shelter in a lawless environment to up to five days, ***EYE ROLL***. This is my reason why I don't care to want to regularly post about this although it is occurring here in the South because once again the liberals, Democratic pundits, Republicans, and even the media is there to prove to me that all have something to prove that is "that Obama is an inadequate black man for president". All of which is so far from reality that it's laughable, and I commend Jon Stewart of the Daily Show for making light of this overexaggeration.

LOL @ Rahm "Rumball" Emanuel attempting to get PA. Congressman Sestak out of the Democratic senatorial primary with a job offer
LMAO @ this fiasco because I knew for awhile that Rumball Emanuel is a snake-in-the-grass who will do ANYTHING to get what he wants, but this is a bit extreme for even him. Emanuel used Bill Clinton as the intermediary to convene the uncompensated job offer to Joe Sestak earlier this year to get him to drop out of the Pennsylvania Democratic senatorial primary. According to the New York Times, Sestak was presented this offer in February. (***KANYE SHRUG***)
I'm just getting a good laugh at this because honestly the Democratic establishment wanted Arlen Specter to remain in office for an additional term since he has quite a bit of clout in DC. However, the things that people will to keep others in power is AMAZING. On the other hand, I give the side-eye to the brigade of Republican Senators (including that sissified closet case Lindsey Graham) calling for a special prosecutor (cue Kenneth Starr again) to look into this, but Sestak himself is pushing this as well. So you see that apparently Sestak was to stir up some dust himself about this, and then Pennslvania governor (and known political provocateur) Ed Randell has said that it should be explored.
To sum it up, this screams vindictiveness on the part of Sestak to get even with the Obama administration for supporting Specter over him and will inadvertently will help and place him in a position to be attacked by Republicans. However, if you want to make some real enemies then I bet this is a real good opportunity on Sestak's part. FYI, I wasn't exactly jumping for joy that he won because some LGBTs were cheering because of "more pro-same sex unionship" stance over the moderate stance of Specter's more moderate stance on such issues. I roll my eyes at such subjective things when I knew some politicos are just as destructive as their opponent(s)...

A moment to speak on Arizona...

Well since Arizona is apart of the Sunbelt, in my humble opinion a de facto extension of the South, so I'll speak on the Florida-esque state where they recently passed one of the most racebaiting laws in modern history against Hispanics in particular. (Don't act all brand new, come on you know they were aiming for them...)
I just love the quotes of the Arizona's appointed governor, Jan Brewer, who was put in place last year after Janet Napolitano became Homeland Security secretary said:
"We in Arizona have been more than patient waiting for Washington to act, but decades of inaction and misguided policy have created a dangerous and unacceptable situation."Now I will say the immigration situation has gone on for far too long, but remember the under the 8 years of the Bush administration nothing occurred either. The pragmatic part of me says "yeah, I agree Gov. Brewer", but the rational socially alert practical side of me sides "Uh, this heifer just gave the A'OK to racial profiling by responding to conservative white ignorance to preserve her seat in office for a full term come election time." This law is so poorly written that even municipal police chiefs including the former chief of Phoenix suburb, Mesa, are against it, and that says A LOT.
I just love that good ol' anti-Washington sentiment where the talking conservative dittoheads do their dirty work blaming everybody but their own conservative representatives in Congress (HUH, John "I talk out of both sides of my mouth on everything" McCain, John Kyl, and the rest of the Congressional Republican brigade from AZ!). Anyways, it gets even better when she said this:
"This bill strengthens the laws of our state, protects all of us, every Arizona citizen... It does so while ensuring that the constitutional rights of all remain solid, stable."Aww, how cute! You are feeding the fodder for the alarmist crowd with the notion "we are now safe, now don't worry your pretty white head about those god-awful Mexicans". A recent poll published in the Arizona Republic shows that the majority of the (white) Arizonians support this fuckery by 70%. Yeah, this is bullshit at it extraordinarily worst, and we can see some white people will give life to ANYTHING and the foolish in the GOP (and to certain extension the Democratic Party) will feed into their ignorance to stay in office. Yet the entire state of Arizona was a part of Mexico once upon a time, so the whites pushing this law are not only racist but subjecting those whose families may have a long history with the land than there was a state known as Arizona to racial profiling because of their paranoia. TISK, TISK, TISK....
However, there is a more! Arizona State House passed a bill about 2 weeks ago that requires the subjective declaration that Presidential candidates are native-born American citizens and want to see proof of their birth certificate shown to the Arizona Secretary of State, who handles candidates who appear on the ballot and other electoral issues. In other words, they want to require the current sitting president, Barack Obama, proof of natural born citizenship before he can be placed on the ballot in 2012. Yeah, these idiots are UNBELIEVABLE in Arizona, but at least they are now topping Virginia these days for once. However, we are seeing the retrograding of previously pseudo-progressive or forward-thinking states, but Arizona has always been more conservative since it's high older white retiree population like Florida. Also let's not forget it was the last 2 states (along with New Hampshire) to recognize Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday as a state holiday in 1990 (co-thanks to John McCain and then-sitting AZ governor Evan Mecham)...
The fallout is widespread from San Francisco city attorney is calling for a boycott of Arizona to Congressional Democrat, Raul Grijalva, from Arizona actually calling of a boycott of his own home state to tourism and economic development officials are worried to a refried bean swastika being painted on the windows of the Arizona State Capitol building in Phoenix.
All this history of Arizona and its fuckery is enough to definitely hamper their economic development ventures among other things. What ashame! I once upon a time wanted to move to Phoenix, but after learning all this about Arizona and its socially conservative and aversive racist history and mindset, NOPE!

Georgia's 1st black female and youngest chief justice is being considered for departing U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens
While I was under the weather for the last few days (literally after I returned from Atlanta), Leah Ward Sears, Georgia's 1st black and youngest chief justice name has popped up on the list of names to replace John Paul Stevens on the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS). According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
Sears' name now is among more than half a dozen candidates being considered by the president to replace Justice John Paul Stevens, who is retiring this summer.Well, this is an interesting series of developments involving the foolishness that has been pedaled by Senatorial Republicans at the idea of President Obama appointing another justice to the SCOTUS like Alabama's very own junior senator Jeff Sessions (backwoods, aversive racist asshole). According to the Mobile Press-Register, Session released a long, yet convoluted statement commending and condemning President Obama if even thinks about attempting to nominate anything other than a social conservative to the post currently held by the clearly liberal John Paul Stevens. This excerpt is so tale-telling about the double standard that Sessions along with the majority of the Senatorial Republicans on this process:
This idiot is telling me that he made sure that Roberts and Alito were properly vetted in the Senatorial approval process? That one is HIGHLY DOUBTFUL considering how bias on opinions Alito clearly is on rulings moreso than any other justice on the SCOTUS. I hope that Obama nominates Sears for the SCOTUS since it would bring another open-minded moderate with progressive leanings and bonus of this one would a black female. On the flip side, according to the Washington Post, Sears is friends with current sitting justice Clarence Thomas, so it would be interesting to see if he will do some backdoor campaigning in her favor.
Justice Stevens' approaching retirement sets in motion an important constitutional process to nominate and confirm the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. In exercising its 'advise and consent' role, the Senate must act on behalf of the American people to carefully scrutinize the nominee's qualifications, prior speeches and writings, and record. Senate hearings are the public's best opportunity to become involved in this process, and it is critical that the Judiciary Committee conduct a fair and thorough evaluation of whomever President Obama nominates for this extraordinary lifetime appointment. We know from the nomination of Justice Sotomayor last spring that the public is rightly concerned about the future of our judiciary. The product of her confirmation hearing was a near-universal rejection of President Obama's empathy standard, the flawed notion that judges should allow personal feelings, political opinions, and social views to guide judicial decision-making. Senators on both sides of the aisle--and the nominee herself--disavowed the president's standard because it lies contrary to the traditional role of a judge in our legal system. Such an approach opens the door to an anti-democratic abuse of power where unaccountable federal judges set national policy according to their own views and political agendas. That approach is deeply unpopular with the American people, and any nominee who subscribes to it should expect bipartisan opposition. The courtroom is a place reserved for the search for truth and the fair adjudication of disputes, free from politics. The American people want judges of the utmost integrity who have demonstrated a commitment to the Constitution and a willingness to impartially apply the law to the facts to reach a just outcome, without regard to the parties involved. There is a growing movement that is calling for more fidelity to our constitutional order, not less.
This is going to be a three-ring-circus and the Senatorial Republicans of the socially conservative and hyper-partisan ilk are just going to make this one so more dubious and annoying...

I want some people to STFU on this whole Obama Census form crap!
Over the New York Times story discussing how Barack Obama filled out on the race identification section of the U.S. Census form for himself. REALITY CHECK: if Barack Obama was an average citizen that was seen on the streets or (God forbid) pulled over for an offense by law enforcement do you realize that his race would be identified as a black male. Yeah, he was raised by his clearly white mother along with his second generation Irish American maternal grandparents, but he said in his own autobiographical story that he has come to identify himself as an 'African American' or in my terms, black. It's not that hard to understand that since the one-drop rule has been enforced in most social circles of our society in this nation since the times of slavery that if a person appears have more physical traits uncommon to most white Americans then they are considered 'non-white'. This following quote by a commentator on The Huffington Post sums it up quite eloquently:
Most people do not consider biracial black/whites to be white 9.5/10 no matter what. If Barack Obama was some hustler in Chicago, or a janitor in Idaho no one would look at him and say "Oh, he's half white so he really could be white". That just doesn't happen. Like he's said in his books, Obama has always been treated and regarded as a Black man.The fact that some whites want to claim Barack Obama as a member of the in-group when many doesn't even consider their own biracial or multiracial relatives as 'white' although their blood says A LOT of the trivialized mindset of a number of individuals in that demographic group. It's quite simple, the man sees himself as black and if you don't respect then that is your problem. However, don't conveniently consider a person a part of a demographic group when otherwise other individuals who have more apparent traits associated with being white are denied instantly because of their lack of prominence or achievements. It's hypocritical and very evident of the apparent sift and dissidence in our society when it comes to concepts of race identification and white privilege. (I'll leave that to the blog Stuff White People Do to discuss since it's entirely dedicated to such topics).
The only time anyone wanted to seriously talk up his "White" side was when it looked like he was about to become President and afterwards. Just like South Koreans wanted to claim Hines Ward 'after' he became MVP. In lesser circumstances these men would be considered (and treated) as black period.
Obama's white side never helped him catch cabs. It never stopped many whites from calling him an affirmative action candidate. His white side didn't stop Glenn Beck from saying he has a deep seated hatred of white people. His white side didn't help him in the Louis Gates incident last year when whites freaked out after he said police officers acted stupidly (which they did). His white side hasn't helped convince ignorant masses that our Democratically elected president is a legal citizen of the US.
He can identify as he likes and he identifies as Af-American. I'm not sure why some whites are getting upset over a societal norm that they created, promoted, and complacently live by everyday.

Tricky Dicky's power stunt might cost Republicans later on this year
Alabama's U.S Senator Richard "Tricky Dicky" Shelby is impeding any progress in the nomination process of any of the 70 nominated for the Obama administration over "pork" projects he wants for this state. He wants the defense contracts, FBI training center, and money for other pet projects from federal dollars to return to Alabama. This jackass is hoping to appease the delusional and WASP-y crowd that will buy anything he is selling because he wants deserves this "pork money" more than the reality of the federal deficit and wants to bad-mouth Obama as being "useless" as his empty-head, blind followers would buy. FYI, he has more than 5 buildings across Central Alabama that bare his or his families' name on it.
However, little do he realize this can be a ball in the Obama administration and Democrats' corner since this is doing exactly what they have been claiming "obstructing progress in Washington". Shelby might ironically wind up costing his fellow Republican comrades or comrades in running for office some major political capital. Also let's not forget how John "McSame" McCain is the anti-thesis of pork and they are in the same party and house of Congress - the Senate. It's going to be very interesting thanks to this dubious attempt to blackmail the Obama administration and Washington over some self-centered shit. Alabama isn't the most important place in the nation, and anybody with half-a-brain knows this.
UPDATE: He backed off on his holds after the press and everybody else made an ass of him, especially with the Republicans gaining a reputation as obstructionists.

Rod McCollum writes a column on MSNBC's The Grio on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and its affects on black folks
LGBT/SGL blogger, Rod McCollum recently penned an article on The Grio on the MSNBC network about the affects of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT) on how it would be a "teachable moment" for the "black community". He touched on Obama's first State of the Union speech and its inclusion of the repeal of DADT. Also get gave some interesting figures on how many service men and women have been discharged from the military because of the nearly 20-year-old policy.
Interesting, considering how most blacks do come from economically crazier background especially in these times where unemployment is 3x the rate of whites. So the military is the only real secure employment option for many blacks in this economy. It's a damn shame that so many LGBT/SGLs of color have to turn to military to make as well, but they are always the ones facing the highest threshold of foolishness for being person of color and same-gender-loving (SGL).
More than 13,000 members of the military have been fired since the law was adopted and more than "644 people have been discharged under the law since Mr. Obama took office," the New York Times notes in a January 28 editorial calling for its repeal. The law has cost the US up to $1.3 billion. Additionally, the public face of the dismissed gay soldier is often white and male, but they're statistically more likely to be a black lesbian or black gay man.

More talk, but little action
I've just about had it with my fellow LGBT/SGL bloggers on their criticism of President Obama and claiming that he is a "do-nothing" president when in reality there are bigger problems at hand than their selfish mindset. The saying "can't see the forest for the trees" comes to mind instantly after listening and reading for the past few months. It's annoying and so obnoxious how they have spent their time whining, bitching, and moaning over nothing yet they seem to believe that these issues are precedent over the economy, healthcare, and jobs. Fellow LGBT/SGL and blogger of color, David Kaufman, summed up with similar thought along with C.G. Shield of the Daily Athenaeum university newspaper of West Virginia University.
The bitterness and vitriol filling LGBT attacks on the Dems must come to an end, replaced by a respectful and actionable solutions-based agenda. Most crucially, major LGBT institutions must learn from their previous mistakes and work to rectify them, rather than settling for sloppy repeats.....
He really digs into Pam Spaulding of Pam's House Blend who along with Queerty, Towerload, Ameriblog Gay, and Rod 2.0 has spent the better portion of 2009 always degrading the Obama administration while the economy has the front and center of public interest. The often destructive sense of few will affect many, but hence why I don't have allegience to any group other than to myself because their nature of self-centeredness will prove more lethal to the cause than conductive. This includes reckless LGBT leaders concerned more for their own bloated public images than the greater public good. Leaders like Mixner and AMERICAblog who would seem to truly want this White House to fail -- yet fail themselves to offer any sort of realistic back-up plan. Or even explain why.

Pat Robertson needs to sit is decripped ass THEN there is Rush Limbaugh AKA Lard Ass
All I can say is WOW! This old clown is needs to stop and just go the fuck home! What's even worse is that my former favorite local and former NBC O&O station, WVTM, which is now owned by god-awful Media General, airs this crap known as the 700 Club locally at noon every weekday. I want to just sucker punch this ignorant idiot, but the Haitian Ambassador to the US did it for me with words on the Rachael Maddow Show.
Lard ass, Rush Limbaugh said yesterday that people shouldn't give money to any of the charities or the federal government to aid the Haitian citizens after the catastrophic earthquake that occurred on Monday.
"I do believe that everything is political to this president," Limbaugh said on his radio show yesterday. "Everything this president sees is a political opportunity, including Haiti, and he will use it to burnish his credentials with minorities in this country and around the world, and to accuse Republicans of having no compassion."SMH This piece of shit should have learned from his heart murmur over the holidays to be a little more mindful of what he says about anybody. How is being compassionate towards your fellow man suppose to be "political"? Honestly, Lard Ass needs just put up his sippy cup of STFU and drink from it...
LET'S ALSO TALK ABOUT THAT SPLABOO HEIFER ON THERE WITH PAT ROBERTSON....
That corn-fed heifer who was nodding her pretty little head alongside with Robertson's incoherent rantings about Haiti is none other than Kristi Watts. She is a Chicago native and divorcee, and here is her testimony about how she got over her divorce.
***sigh*** As much I can empathize with your personal hardships of life, you had an opportunity to stand up as a sane black woman and said 'NO' when Robertson was spouting that ignorance for the world to see and hear. Instead you just nodded your head, and that ma'am shows to me you have no principles at all for people who are down and out, and you would rather swallow your dignity and pride for a paycheck. You are a very pathetic person, Ms. Watts. You needs to find yourself and who you really are because apparently even after this series of events you've yet to find yourself or your own voice. SMH

The political "what ifs" that wind up happening
The political and societal 'what ifs' are some of the most interesting things that occur in modern times. What I'm talking about are the things in conventional wisdom or in scholarly thought are the things assumed not likely to occur. However, some of these things have been defeated due to circumstance or sheer luck, but it happened. Case and point, the Commonwealth of Virginia elected it first black governor with L. Douglas Wilder back in 1989 although just 7 years prior California failed doing the same with the candidacy of Tom Bradley thus we have the political theory known as the Bradley effect. Nevertheless, a Southern state was the first to actually elect self-identified black governor to its office.
Another case of this is with Houston just yesterday where the city elected its first openly gay mayor, yet it recently declined to pass a referendum to allow domestic partnership benefits including same-gender-loving (SGL) employees and their partners. Other cases including the passage of Proposition 8 in a assumed politically and socially progressive state as California at the same time as more conservative yet urbane states like Florida with its Amendment 2 and Arizona with Proposition 102, all of which were banned the recognition or allowance of same-sex unions, domestic partnerships, or civil unions with their state boundaries. Also the election of Arnold Schwarzenegger, famous action movie actor and a moderate Republican, to the helm of governor in California in 2003 after the electoral recall of Gray Davis, a Democrat. Finally, the election of the first self-identified black president of the US with candidacy of Barack Obama.
It shows that anything is entirely possible in these day and age politically speaking in our society, so when I hear naysayers like Joe Reed, Jesse Jackson, and others say that it's not likely for Alabama to elect a black governor with the candidacy of Artur Davis or that Birmingham can't possibly make a turnout in the midst of huge recession then I say never say never.

Grab a Mop? Hmm...
Well, I'm not a fan of social conservatives Republicans or Democrats, so I had to give it up to Obama for calling it like he see it. There are a lot of social conservatives that love to throw dirt, but doesn't want to contribute to the clean-up.
This video sums it up pretty damn well:
